Bio/Research

Professor McCann has been a practicing pharmacist for 20 years. She started in a retail setting in the Bronx and went to Jacobi hospital with a focus on burn patients and total parenteral nutrition. She worked her way up the coast to Norwalk hospital where she helped open an HIV and Psychiatric clinic to provide medications for patients with no insurance. Then she went further north to Bridgeport hospital where her focus was infectious disease and the critical care areas. The transfer to Yale was made in 2007 where she was the pediatric oncology pharmacist. While taking care of pediatrics she became one of the first pharmacists in the country to coordinate and manage the telepharmacy program for Yale New Haven Hospital to allow chemotherapy treatments to be prepared for underserved areas. She still works at Yale in telepharmacy and is enrolled in the Masters of Nutrition program at the University of Bridgeport.
