Dara Z. Strolovitch (Ph.D. Political Science, Yale) is a scholar of American politics whose interdisciplinary research explores the politics of marginalization, interest groups and social movements, and the intersecting politics of race, class, gender, and sexuality. She is the author of Affirmative Advocacy: Race, Class, and Gender in Interest Group Politics (UCP 2007), which won the American Political Science Association’s Gladys Kammerer Award, the Political Organizations and Parties section's Leon Epstein Award, the American Sociological Association's Race, Gender, and Class section's Distinguished Contribution to Scholarship Award, and the Association for Research on Nonprofits and Voluntary Action's Hodgkinson Prize. She also co-edited the CQ Guide to Interest Groups and Lobbying. Her work appears in several edited volumes and in journals including the Journal of Politics, Perspectives on Politics, the American Journal of Sociology, the National Women’s Studies Association Journal, Social Science Quarterly, American Behavioral Scientist, Politics & Gender, and Du Bois Review. Her research has been supported by the Brookings Institution, Georgetown University, the Aspen Institute, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada, the Russell Sage Foundation, and the National Science Foundation.
