The goal of Dr. Haley's research program is to improve the understanding and appreciation of the behavioural biology of animals, which should ultimately allow to improve the ways of handling and managing agricultural animals. Progress may result in improvements to animal health, productivity, and enhancing appreciation of animal behaviour studies as a useful tool for investigating questions about the quality of life that animals experience (animal welfare).
