Bio/Research

Professor Berger’s research is in the area of empirical corporate finance with applications to financial institutions, causal inference, product market competition, and labor economics. She currently studies the effects of financial institutions on labor market outcomes, stock price efficiency, and product market competition. Professor Berger received her PhD in Finance from the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University and her BA and BFA in Economics and Vocal Performance from Tulane University. Prior to her doctoral studies, she held positions at Western Southern Life Insurance Company in Cincinnati, Ohio and Citigroup Smith Barney in New Orleans, LA, where her work involved corporate 401k plan design, implementation, and management.
