Ginsburg, an expert on domestic and international copyright law, is co-director of Columbia’s Kernochan Center for Law, Media and the Arts. The center’s mission is to seeks a broader understanding of the legal aspects of creative works of authorship, including their dissemination and use. Ginsburg is president of ALAI-USA and a vice president of ALAI (Association Littéraire et Artistique Internationale), an international group founded in 1878 Paris by Victor Hugo to promote and defend authors’ rights.
