Franke’s interdisciplinary work covers gender and racial equality as well as the regulation of sexuality in domestic, transnational and international contexts. She recently has worked in Afghanistan on the rights of women as well as on curricular reform at Kabul University Law School. In addition to her work at Columbia, she has taught a course in Contemporary Legal Problems at a medium security women’s prison.
