I am also an independent health care consultant whose main areas of focus are in communications, evidence-based practice and information applications. My clinical practice has focused on critical care. I have been an Assistant Professor at the University of Calgary and an Associate Professor for Athabasca University. I was also the Founding Director of Women's Health Resources at the Calgary Grace Hospital. I have given many conference addresses and presentations and authored numerous articles, distance education courses, and three textbooks: Introduction to Nursing Informatics with Marion Ball and Kathryn Hannah; The Internet for Nurses and Allied Health Professionals, and The Internet for Physicians, with Roger Smith.
