Bio/Research

In Marina's own words:

"My research interests are Spanish and Italian feminist studies, mothering studies, cultural studies, media studies. After receiving my Laurea from the Università di Genova (Italy) on the critical reception of the Italian poet Eugenio Montale in the English speaking world, I specialized in translation studies in Genoa and at Ohio State where I completed an MA in comparative cultural studies with a thesis on the translation of theatrical texts. I completed a PhD in contemporary Spanish Peninsular literature at SUNY Buffalo with a dissertation on mothering studies entitled “Gestating a Text, Delivering a Mother” that analyzes the interrelationship between textual and bodily gestation in contemporary Spanish women writers. I have been teaching in the Department of Hispanic and Italian Studies at UVic since 2007."
