Melissa L. Whitson, Ph.D., is an assistant professor of psychology. Her research includes examining risk factors, protective factors and services that affect mental health outcomes for low-income children and families and the implications for prevention and intervention. Her research focuses on children who have been exposed to trauma and their families. She also conducts research in career development and adolescent pregnancy.
