Bio/Research

Randall Hansen is Professor of Political Science and holds a Research Chair at the University of Toronto. His current projects include work on immigration and integration in Europe and North America, a book on the bombing of Germany during World War II, and a collaborative project with Desmond King on eugenics and forced sterilization. He is principal investigator on two funded research projects: a study of the global governance of migration with Frank Lazco and Jobst Koehler of IOM, and an interdisciplinary project on Theorizing German Suffering: Bombing, Rapes, and Expulsions.

Professor Hansen is the author of Citizenship and Immigration in Postwar Britain (Oxford University Press, 2000), and has published numerous articles and book chapters on immigration, citizenship, and the history of eugenics and forced sterilization. Professor Hansen holds a B.A. from the University of British Columbia, and a MasterĂ­s degree and Doctorate from the University of Oxford.
