Bio/Research

My clinical interests include prostate cancer, general radiation therapy, bladder cancer, testicular cancer, intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), brachytherapy, lung cancer, lymphoma, breast cancer melanoma and renal cancer. Prostate cancer is now the most common malignancy diagnosed in American males and the second leading cause of cancer deaths.  Although a variety of approaches (observation, surgery, external beam radiation therapy, brachytherapy and hormone therapy) are available for prostate cancer, a review of the historical prostate cancer data provides little evidence that the most cost-effective and efficacious therapies are being utilized.  The prostate specific antigen (PSA) has revolutionized our understanding of the proper diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer.
