Bio/Research

Schama is a leading authority on European culture and environmental history and on the history of art. His books have been translated into 15 languages; they include Citizens: A Chronicle of the French Revolution; Landscape and Memory; Rembrandt’s Eyes; Rough Crossings: Britain, the Slaves and the American Revolution; and The Power of Art. This latest publication accompanied his recent television series of the same name on PBS and BBC. An earlier award-winning series, “A History of Britain,” was broadcast on the BBC and the History Channel.
