Bio/Research

Dr. Steven A. Grover is the Director of the McGill Cardiovascular Improvement Program (CHIP) and the Center for the Analysis of Cost-Effective Care at the McGill University Health Center. Dr. Grover is also a Professor in the Departments of Medicine and of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at McGill University. After graduating with a medical degree at McGill University, he completed his post-graduate education at the University of California at Los Angeles, McGill University, and Harvard Medical School. He then received his research training at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital while completing a Master’s of Public Administration at the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University.

Dr. Grover’s clinical interests include the importance of exercise and weight reduction to reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and dementia. He is the founding Director of the Montreal Cardiovascular Health Improvement Program affiliated with the McGill University teaching hospitals.

Other research interests include quality of life assessment and the economic analyses of HIV disease, prostate cancer and other diseases impacting on the health of men and women. He received the Prix IMS Health Canada for outstanding health economics research in 2000. Erectile dysfunction is a focus of more recent research. Dr. Grover received the Yamanouchi Impotence Best Abstract Series Award at the annual meeting of the American Urological Association in 2003.
