Bio/Research

Ted Cohn is a professor emeritus of political science at SFU. He received his PhD at the University of Michigan and taught international relations and international political economy for 35 years (seven years at the University of Western Ontario, and 28 years at SFU).

He is the author of several books, including Canadian Food Aid: Domestic and Foreign Policy Implications (U. of Denver, 1979), The International Politics of Agricultural Trade (UBC Press, 1990), Governing Global Trade (Ashgate, 2002), and four editions of Global Political Economy: Theory and Practice (Pearson Longman, 2000, 2003, 2005, 2008). Cohn is a co-editor of Innovation Systems in a Global Context (McGill-Queen’s U. Press, 1998) and Power in the Global Era (Macmillan, 2000).

His recent articles include “The Doha Round: Challenges, Problems and Prospects,” in Studer and Wise, eds., Requiem or Revival: The Promise of North American Integration (Brookings Institution, 2007), and “The World Trade Organization and Global Governance,” in Lee and McBride, eds., Neo-Liberalism, State Power and Global Governance (Springer, 2007). He is currently co-authoring a book on international organization.
