Achilleas Thoma is Division Head of the Division of Plastic Surgery, Department of Surgery, McMaster University. He is a Clinical Professor, Department of Surgery, an Associate Member of the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics and Director of the Surgical Outcomes Research Center (SOURCE) McMaster University. He is the President of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons. Specific research interests include: cost-effectiveness (utility) analysis, evidence-based medicine, randomized controlled trials, systematic reviews, quality of life measurement/research, quality of life in Dupuytren's contracture patients, economic analysis of carpal tunnel syndrome.
