His areas of teaching include Canadian politics, International Relations (theories and institutions), Security Studies and Middle Eastern Studies. He was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Royal Military College for a few years.
Dr. Dizboni was awarded numerous research and travel grants for national and international conferences (organized by the British Society for Middle-Eastern Studies, the International Studies Association, ACFAS, etc.) from the FCAR, FQRSC and SSHRC. Recently, he received a grant from the Canadian Society for the Study of Religion to participate in a round table at the annual conference of the Canadian Federation for Humanities and Social Sciences (held at the University of Western Ontario in May 2005).
Dr. Dizboni has presented numerous papers at conferences and published numerous articles in the fields of Comparative and International Politics. His works include the section on Afghanistan in Encyclopedia of the World Legal Systems (Santa Barbara, Calif.: ABC-CLIO, 2002.) and "

Dr. Dizboni works presently on different research and publication projects which include area studies (democratization in Middle East and the Canadian experience) and global politics (globalization, religion and terrorism).
Dr Dizboni worked as a consultant for the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has been a frequent commentator for the media on different aspects of international politics.
