Ali A. Valenzuela is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Politics and Program in Latino Studies at Princeton University. His teaching and research are in American politics, with a focus on Latino politics, public opinion, voter turnout, experimental methods, religion in politics, and racial and ethnic identity in the U.S. His current research uses large-n surveys, geographic and electoral data, as well as field and survey experiments to investigate the causes and consequences of identity politics for Latino group unity, turnout in elections, and support for candidates and public policies. His research has been published in the Quarterly Journal of Political Science, American Politics Research, Presidential Studies Quarterly and Political Research Quarterly.
