Allison Gorga received a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Iowa and is currently an Assistant Professor of Criminology at Webster University. Her research primarily focuses on the intersection of gender and punishment, and has interviewed people who are incarcerated, work, or volunteer at women’s prisons. She is currently working on a project involving correctional health care and how health care workers provide care differently in a place of punishment.
