Professor Emeka earned his PhD from the University of Washington in 2004 and assumed his current post as Assistant Professor of Sociology in 2005. Currently, Professor Emeka is engaged in research to 1) uncover and explain trends in poverty among immigrants and their U.S. born children and 2) provide empirical evidence as to the continuing centrality of the Black/non-Black divide in U.S. labor markets.
