My undergraduate degree is from the University of Cambridge, where I read Part II Physics and Part III Maths at Trinity College. I then moved to California for graduate school, and received my PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, in December 2000, under the supervision of Lars Bildsten. I spent the following year as a postdoc at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics (KITP) in Santa Barbara, before moving to the University of California, Santa Cruz as a Hubble Fellow. I joined the McGill Department of Physics in September 2004. I was a Scholar of the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR) Cosmology and Gravity program from 2004 to 2012, was awarded an Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship in 2006, and the John David Jackson Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2009. I have been an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics at McGill since 2009.
