Dolkart, a well-known New York City architectural historian, is the author of Morningside Heights: A History of Its Architecture and Development. He has been active in historic preservation in New York City for more than 25 years, both as a staff member at the Landmarks Preservation Commission and as a consultant. In addition, he has worked closely with neighborhood groups on preservation efforts.
