Dr. Peregrine's research interests currently include emerging parasitic infections of animals and people, and drug resistance in parasites of dogs and sheep.
He obtained his DVM and PhD from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, before working for nine years at the International Laboratory for Research on Animal Diseases, Nairobi, Kenya. Since 1997 he has been an associate professor in clinical parasitology at the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, where he teaches DVM students. In addition, he is a diplomate of the European Veterinary Parasitology College and the American College of Veterinary Microbiologists (Veterinary Parasitology specialty).
