Since first joining the School of Journalism as a sessional instructor in 2014, she has demonstrated an energetic commitment to teaching first- and second-year students on the fundamentals and the potential of journalism. With her professional experiences as digital director of The Walrus and as an award-winning multi-platform journalist at the CBC, Angela brings “a vital technological perspective” to the classroom, as one colleague put it.
She is on top of what is happening in the industry and has taught a broad range of introductory skills, from website-building to feature writing to social media practice. She has also helped develop programs and courses at the University of Toronto’s School of Continuing Studies and created the 12-week internship program at The Walrus. Many School of Journalism students have benefited from that innovative program. Angela has an M.A. in Journalism from Western University and is also an award-winning novelist.
