Dr. Fowler's chief scientific interest lies in the study of patterns in minerals and rocks, particularly volcanic rocks. With students, he is working on problems of texture and volcanology/igneous petrology in volcanic rocks (komatiites - rhyolites) of the Abitibi Greenstone belt Ontario, Soufriere Hills Montserrat, Isle of Rum Scotland as well as Au mineralization and MVT PG-Zu deposits.
