Bio/Research

Barb Chapman is a lecturer and the Laboratory Coordinator for the Psychology Department. She graduated from Bard College with an A.B. in Psychology and from the University at Albany, SUNY, with an M.A. in Social/Personality Psychology. She has taught at SUNY-Albany, Renssalaer Polytechnic Institute (Troy, NY), and Skidmore College, and has been at Trinity since 1997.

She teaches the lab for Research Design and Analysis every semester. She also occasionally teaches the Social Psychology lab and the Child Development lab. Other lab coordinator responsibilities include creating and editing lab projects, analyzing lab data, and assisting students working on group projects and theses (e.g., survey and codebook preparation; data entry and analyses).

She is active in the Trinity community, participating in many information technology, teaching-related, and community-building workshops and events. For example, Barb has been a member of the President’s Special Council for Women, the Information Technology in Education Committee, and is a member of Safe Zones. In all of her interactions, she strives to build relationships with students, faculty, and staff in order to improve the intellectual culture at Trinity and develop stronger links between the social and intellectual aspects of college life.
