Bio/Research

Beth Harn is an academic expert in special education, school psychology, learning disabilities, educational assessment, academic interventions and literacy. At the University of Oregon, she is an associate professor in special education and clinical sciences. Her research primarily revolves around supporting and promoting the early and successful development of academic and social emotional skills in grades k-3. Her focus has been on promoting the development of early literacy skills through the use of evidenced-based instruction and evaluation practices. Beth has developed methods to support teachers to implement evidenced-based practices in a more effective and efficient manner. She also has worked with the Oregon Department of Education in its implementation of their Dyslexia initiative and the complexities involved in the identification and supports for students with significant reading difficulties.
