Bilal Farooq’s Laboratory of Innovations in Transportation (LITrans) is tackling transportation problems like congestion, safety, pollution and parking using transformative technologies that include connected and autonomous vehicles and services such as on-demand mobility. The scope of LITrans’ research spans large-scale sensors networks for multi-modal traffic sensing, the use of VR in travel behaviour analysis, and the development of artificial intelligence and information-fusion algorithms that use big data for mobility inference and informatics. LITrans also specializes in the development of advanced predictive models and simulation platforms.
