Her primary research interests include the consequences of driving cessation for medically impaired older drivers and their families, the effects of medical conditions on driving competence, and the role of alternate transportation in maintaining the mobility and independence of medically at-risk drivers. Recent projects include a contract with the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Association for the Advancement of Automotive Medicine to provide a review of medical conditions and driving, and to prepare draft guidelines for physicians to evaluate medically at-risk drivers.
