Bio/Research

Carrie A. Picardi, Ph.D. is an Industrial/Organizational Psychologist with over 17 years of experience in field settings in a variety of Human Resources positions and as an organizational research analyst and consultant.

As a Human Resources practitioner, Dr. Picardi led initiatives in the areas of selection, job analysis and design, training and development, compensation benchmarking, performance management, employee relations, management coaching, and team building. As a research analyst, she provided consulting support to clients on organizational development initiatives, with projects spanning myriad needs such as talent management, employee engagement and retention, learning and development, management coaching, compensation strategy, and technology/systems decisions.

As a faculty member for the University of Bridgeport Trefz School of Business, Dr. Picardi’s focus is on course development and instruction both on-campus and online for the MBA program in Organizational Behavior, Human Resource Management, Workforce Assessment, and Organizational Development. She continues to conduct research studies in the areas of performance management, organizational culture, and ethics, and has presented her research at conferences and meetings globally. Dr. Picardi is the author of the textbook, "Research Methods: Designing and Conducting Research with a Real-world Focus "(Sage Publications, October 2013).

In addition, Dr. Picardi collaborates with global organizations, most recently with UNICEF, MetLife, and Habitat for Humanity, on consulting projects in the areas of leadership development and coaching, assessment centers, competency model development, job analysis, conflict resolution, and building high performance teams.
