Dr. Dieleman is boreal forest ecologist with over a decade of experience working in remote regions throughout Canada and the United States including Alaska, the Northwest Territories, northern Ontario, and northern Saskatchewan. She is particularly fascinated with shifts in disturbances regimes (wildfire, permafrost thaw, mining, timber harvests) in northern ecosystems and their implications on local ecosystem processes as well as climate change at large.
