Dr. Mateer is well known internationally for her work in the clinical assessment and management of cognitive and emotional difficulties following neurological injury. Her research interests are primarily in the management of difficulties with attention, memory, executive functions, awareness, and emotional adjustment following traumatic brain injury.
She has co-authored three books most recently and over 80 articles and book chapters. Her most recent book published by Guilford Press in 2001 is entitled Cognitive Rehabilitation: An Integrative Neuropsychological Approach. She serves on a number of editorial boards, and has presented her research at many international conferences.
