Professor Chris Kyriakakis is the founding Director of the USC Immersive Audio Laboratory with facilities for experimental work in multichannel audio and psychoacoustics. He is also the founder and CTO of Audyssey, a USC spin off company that licenses innovative audio technology to leading consumer electronics and automotive companies around the world.
The focus of his current research is on the understanding of the acoustical and perceptual limitations that degrade audio quality in Televisions, Mobile Phones, Tablets, and PCs.
Prof. Kyriakakis has published nearly 100 technical papers, a book on Immersive Audio Signal Processing, and holds several patents. He is a member of the Audio Engineering Society. Products that have resulted from his research at USC can be found in millions of homes, cars, movie theaters, and the Apple Store.
