Dr. Rinaldi’s research focus is in the area of social and emotional development of children and adolescents with an emphasis on family, peer, and school relationships. Her interests and research activities concentrate on children’s primary relationships (i.e. family and peer) and their links to the development and maintenance of social competencies in early and middle childhood as well as adolescence. Currently, she is investigating how mother-child and father-child relationships in early childhood foster (or hinder) adaptive social and academic behaviours.
