Christof Koch studied Physics and Philosophy in Tübingen, Germany, obtaind a Master of Physics in 1980 and my PhD from the Max-Planck-Institut for Biological Cybernetics in Tübingen in 1982. In the fall of 1986, he joined the California Institute of Technology's newly started Computation and Neural Systems PhD program as an Assistant Professor. Christof Koch is the author of a biophysics textbook, Biophysics of Computation:Information Processing in Single Neurons, published by OUP in 1999.
