Developing methods of molecular detection for early cancer is a natural evolution of an improved scientific understanding of head and neck cancer and now represents a primary focus of our laboratories. Improved forms of laser surgery and tissue reconstruction are exciting developments originating in the operating rooms of this medical center. Also, clinical research of novel rehabilitation strategies in patients who have lost speech and swallow functions represents an exciting focus.
