Dr. Eilers' first book, "Roman patrons of Greek cities" (Oxford University Press, 2002), deals with the history of the Roman institution of patronage of cities in the Greek East in the late Republic and early principate. His interests include the history and prosopography of the late Republic and early Empire, and Greek andLatin epigraphy. He is currently writing a monograph on the evolution of Jewish privileges in Roman Asia Minor.
