For Cori Myers, ensuring students’ exposure to real-world situations and preparedness after college is the cornerstone of her academic passion. Dr. Myers has been instrumental in pursuing experiential learning activities for students in the business and computer science department.
For Cori Myers, ensuring students’ exposure to real-world situations and preparedness after college is the cornerstone of her academic passion. Dr. Myers has been instrumental in pursuing experiential learning activities for students in the business and computer science department.
In collaboration with the LHU Business Advisory Board and Program Faculty, she established such initiatives as the Haven Entrepreneurial Leadership Center (ELC), Entrepreneurial Leadership Center Lecture Series, the LHU Business Hall of Fame, Business and Accounting Senior Reception, Business Etiquette Luncheon, and numerous internship opportunities. She mentors students in Alpha Kappa Psi, the professional business fraternity, by identifying opportunities to hone their organizational and professional skills, and working cooperatively on projects.
Dr. Myers has delivered conference presentations, workshops and/or consulting services in such areas as strategic management, human resource management, time management, leadership, assessment, and active learning strategies. Recently, Dr. Myers served the University in her role as champion of the business accreditation, authored the self-study, and coordinated the site visit that resulted in full accreditation of LHU’s business and accounting programs by the Accreditation Council of Business Schools and Programs.
She has collaborated with such local organizations as the Clinton County Economic Partnership, Downtown Clinton County, and the Small Business Development Center to organize student projects/ research with local businesses and offer community lectures and workshops on relevant business topics.
Dr. Myers serves on the Joint SBDC/ELC Advisory Council which provides input regarding the needs of the business community and the relevancy of the business curriculum. Dr. Myers volunteers with such community organizations as the YMCA and Big Woods Bible Church, and such professional boards as the Northeastern Association of Business, Economics, and Technology.
