Dr. Cynthia Cupido is an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics. She has been a faculty member in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care since September, 2000. In November, 2008, Dr. Cupido took on the role of Medical Director of the Pediatric Critical Care Unit.

Bio/Research
Dr. Cynthia Cupido is an associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics. She has been a faculty member in the Division of Pediatric Critical Care since September, 2000. In November, 2008, Dr. Cupido took on the role of Medical Director of the Pediatric Critical Care Unit.
Within pediatric critical care, Dr. Cupido's clinical interests include continuous renal replacement therapy, organ donation and end of life care and she has helped to shape policy development in these areas at a hospital-wide level. Dr. Cupido also has an interest and formal training in Health Care Ethics. She has been a member of the HHS Clinical Ethics Committee since 2007 and is currently Co-Chair of the committee. Dr. Cupido was recently invited to sit on the newly established Integrated Ethics Council to provide ethics leadership for the HHS community.
Dr. Cupido currently holds research funding together with colleagues in Family Medicine and Internal Medicine to examine the impact of the hospital's new End of Life Care Policy among patients, families and health care workers at Hamilton Health Sciences.
As a clinical educator, Dr. Cupido's interests lie in postgraduate pediatric resident education and fellowship education. As the Educational Resource Person for the Pediatric Residency Program and the Program Director of McMaster's Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship Training Program, Dr. Cupido is continually working at developing our pediatric critical care curriculum.
