Bio/Research

Dana Rowland received a B.A. in mathematics and English from the University of Notre Dame and received an M.S. and Ph.D. in mathematics from Stanford University. Her doctoral focus was in algebraic topology, with a particular interest in holomorphic mapping spaces, holomorphic bundles, K-theory, and homotopy theory. Her current research interests have shifted towards the mathematical theory of knots, especially the intrinsic knotting of graphs.

When not doing mathematics, Dana enjoys spending time with her husband and children. Dana also plays valve trombone and occasionally bassoon in the Merrimack College Jazz ensemble.
