Bio/Research

An associate professor of reproductive and developmental biology, Dr. MacPhee conducts research on mammalian placental development and the function of the uterine musculature during pregnancy. In addition, he teaches in the pre-clerkship portion of the undergraduate medical program such as in the first year Basic Science of Medicine I, and in the second-year Integrated Study of Disease and Women's Health Course. The latter is designed to provide a foundation in the subjects of obstetrics and gynecology. As an instructor in Basic Science of Medicine I (Anatomy/Histology), Dr. MacPhee provides lectures on the histology of the urinary system, male and female reproductive system, and histology of the breast. The remaining time is utilized for laboratory periods associated with the lecture topics.
