David Chorney is an Associate Professor in the Department of Secondary Education at the University of Alberta. His active research program focuses on teacher education and physical education; curriculum theorizing in physical education as well as technology integration within the field of physical education. His scholarly work as a researcher and teacher educator of physical education teacher education (PETE) is nationally and provincially recognized and in 2002 was recognized by the Canadian Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance as a Canadian Young Professional Award winner.
Dr. Chorney has published 10 refereed articles, 9 non-refereed articles, 5 institutional reports and electronic publications and 2 book chapters. Direct results of his research have resulted in 12 international conference presentations, 27 national conference presentations, and 11 provincial conference presentations. In May 2009 Dr. Chorney launched an innovative online resource for physical educators www.physedsource.com
