I began my career as a criminal lawyer but have steadily strayed from that path in the last number of years (although I do like to keep my hand in to some extent). My current research and teaching is focused on wills & estates, trusts, and incapacity law. I am particularly interested in the developing area of elder law and I am pleased to be able to start a new clinical program in the Faculty of Law in September, 2010 – the Elder Law Clinic. For the past couple of years I have been quite active in a number of elder-focused organizations and have done a lot of public legal education in addition to my teaching in the Faculty.
