David Mayers holds a joint appointment in the History and Political Science departments at BU. He has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Carnegie Council on Ethics and International Relations. He was chair of Political Science from 2001-2007. Mayers has published six books, among them THE AMBASSADORS AND AMERICA’S SOVIET POLICY (1995), which won the American Academy of Diplomacy book award, and GEORGE KENNAN AND THE DILEMMAS OF US FOREIGN POLICY (1988). Mayers’s most recent book is DISSENTING VOICES IN AMERICA’S RISE TO POWER (2007). His new research/writing is centered on FDR’s wartime diplomacy.
