Bio/Research

Dr. Pearl's research interests centre on the use of quantitative methods to study the epidemiology of zoonotic and animal diseases and enhance disease surveillance. These quantitative methods include multi-level statistical modeling and a variety of statistical techniques designed for the analysis of spatial and molecular data.

His projects have involved a variety of pathogens, such as E. coli O157:H7, Salmonella, Campylobacter and antimicrobial resistant organisms, in a number of host species including humans, cattle, dogs, poultry, swine, and wildlife.
