Dr. Martin’s research engages Aboriginal communities in population-level health research that is aimed at reducing health disparities. Specifically, her work uses community-based participatory methodologies to understand how to work with Aboriginal communities to address health issues that are of concern to them.

Her recently funded work involves a community-based oral health intervention for Aboriginal youth in south-eastern Labrador and a project that explores the ethical tensions that researchers face when working with Aboriginal communities.
