Bio/Research

Dr. Matthews' research interests are in clinical decision making. One of the focuses is the impact of patient preferences on treatment decisions. The other is the development and dissemination of Clinical Practice Gidelines in dentistry (knowledge transfer). She has expertise in dental health economics (willingness to pay) and clinical research design. Her teaching focuses on gum disease (periodontics) and Evidence-Based Health Care (esp. Dentistry).
