My research interests focus on gerontology and geriatric nursing. My areas of expertise include aging policy, program evaluation, family caregiving, and nursing education.
I am conducting applied and policy research to identify effective models and strategies to increase access by older adults to community-based services and benefits. I am also involved in scholarship examining the relationship between the humanities and arts with well-being in later life and how the humanities and arts can be integrated into nursing education to deepen understanding of the lived experience of aging.
I am co-editor of Enduring Questions in Gerontology (Springer, 2006). My articles have appeared in the Journal of Disability Policy Studies, Generations, Hallym International Journal of Aging, Southwest Journal of Aging, and Contemporary Gerontology.
