Dr. Bishop's area of expertise is in the field of powder metallurgy (P/M) with an emphasis on the exploitation of this technology in the automotive industry. Aside from conventional (ferrous) P/M he is also well versed in emerging P/M materials (aluminum alloys and intermetallics) and advanced production routes such as metal injection molding. Additional interests include mechanical testing, tribology, electron microscopy, X-Ray diffraction and failure analyses.
