Bio/Research

Dr. Bruce focuses on the interrelationship between science & technology and its portrayal in media, including literature, films (including science fiction), documentaries, and visual art. This includes the area of science communication, the perception and understanding of science by the public, and the impact of science and technology on culture. He is the Director of the Arts and Science Program (BAS) at the University of Guelph.

Bruce believes that given the place of science and technology in our everyday life, it is essential for citizens to have a solid understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of this so as to make informed decisions in their lives.
