Davis has published extensively on the topics of international trade, economic development in the open economy and regional/urban economics, including work such as "Bones, Bombs, and Breakpoints: The Geography of Economic Activity," with David E. Weinstein in American Economic Review. Professor Davis has served on the board of editors for the American Economic Review and the Journal of International Economics. He also currently serves as a research associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research, and he has provided consulting for the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the European Commission.
